Miracles provided the encounter with the divine. They confirmed that Jesus, the carpenter’s ‘son’, was more than human – he was the promised Messiah! What would the evidence look like if Jesus were more than a good teacher? What would be the evidence that he could ‘forgive sin’? Wouldn’t he need to be greater than the natural? Bigger than the problems and extend beyond human limitations? Wouldn’t the proof for these things step into the category of “Miracles”?
