Marriage for Losers

  We often get into dating that leads to marriage looking for someone who makes you happy. That’s not a terrible thing; from the beginning you shouldn’t choose someone who makes you unhappy. But is my happiness the foundational criteria for a lifelong relationship? Can an intrinsic self-defining emotion be powerful enough to work through difficult hard times? I beg to interject that happiness alone is not big enough nor strong enough to withstand the tough times we all will encounter along the marital journey. Your happiness will not make your marriage a winner. Here’s another question, “Can a winning marriage come from being the biggest loser?”
